I loved the recent documentary on the BBC about Kit Williams which showed all his most up to date work as well as his studio space and insights into his processes and thoughts. His paintings are so detailed, with a strange life and incredible atmosphere. I also really appreciate how he makes absolutely everything connected to the painting, and how his work extends to beautifully designed clockwork, jewellery and woodwork as well as mechanical curiosities and puzzles as seen in the Masquerade book. He is a true renaissance man. This clip shows Kit explaining the details of a couple of my favourite paintings shown during the programme. The circular Diana painting is amazing.
This is my favourite image from his famous book Masquerade. The prize for solving the puzzle contained in the book was a golden hare, made by Kit and buried in a secret place.
